Where & when we gather
Except when the priest calls a lector's seminar, lectors do not meet. Depending on the number of lectors at the particular time of Mass, a lector may be assigned to proclaim the Word of God once a month, or twice a month or weekly, if assigned on a weekday Mass.

Overview

The Ministry of Lectors in the Catholic Church is a vital and integral part of the liturgical life of the Church. Lectors have the important role of proclaiming the Word of God during the celebration of the Eucharist and other liturgical services and celebrations. Through this ministry, lectors help the Faithful to encounter the Word of God in a profound and meaningful way, enabling them to respond to God's call and to grow in faith.
Our mission: A lector's primary purpose is to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, except for the Gospel, during Mass and other liturgical services. This includes the First and Second Readings and, in some cases, the Psalm. Lectors may also announce intentions for the Universal Prayer. Their role is not merely to read words aloud but to communicate the message of Scripture clearly, reverently and with conviction, allowing the Faithful to meditate on and internalize God's Word.
We serve: Seniors/Adults/Youth/Children - the whole Church
